The Future is Bright

A multimedia event of energetic new percussive music comes January 14th to Emporium-Wicker Park as guest artists composer Elliot Cole and percussionist Peter Ferry join beyond this point, featuring Ferry as a soloist in the first-ever performance of Cole’s new work for percussion and film, The Future is Bright.  Cole will also be featured singing in his Hanuman’s Leap, a dramatically percussive retelling of the 2,500 year-old Indian “Hanuman” myth. True to the program’s eclectic nature, this work draws on epic song, hip hop and reggae, throat singing, choral and experimental music to create something both ancient and new.
